About Devsecknight
Who runs Devsecknight?
Devsecknight is run by a cybersecurity student who learns by breaking things: writing up CTF and lab machines, running security experiments and, once in a while, building software.
What kind of content do you publish?
Three types of posts: Writeups (solved labs from Vulnhub, Hack The Box, TryHackMe and PortSwigger, mapped to MITRE ATT&CK), Tutorials (how to do something step by step) and Concepts (what something is and how it works). Most writeups also have a video on YouTube.
Are the hacking techniques on this site legal to use?
Only on systems you own or have written permission to test. Everything here is for education and is performed in lab environments built to be hacked. See the Terms & Conditions.
I'm a beginner. Where should I start?
Start with the Writeups for easy Vulnhub machines, follow along in your own virtual lab, and use the Resources table at the end of each writeup to install the same tools.
Videos and sponsorships
Do you accept sponsorships?
Yes. I work with brands whose products are genuinely useful for security learners and professionals (training platforms, hardware, tools, VPNs and similar). Sponsored segments are always clearly disclosed. Email click to reveal email with your product and campaign details.
Can I suggest a machine or topic for a video?
Absolutely. Leave a comment on YouTube or send me a message through the Contact page.
Store and affiliate links
Do you sell the products in the Store?
No. The Store is a curated list of learning resources, gadgets and software that I recommend. Buttons take you to the retailer's website, where you buy directly from them.
What are affiliate links?
Some Store and article links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It helps support the site and the channel. I only recommend things I would use myself.
Why did a price change?
Prices and availability are set by the retailer and can change at any time. Always check the final price on the retailer's site.
Privacy
Do you track me?
Only with basic, privacy-respecting analytics to see which pages are popular. YouTube videos load only after you click play. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
